Serie A betting preview: Bologna- Parma

Parma ended their mini blip with a 1-0 win over Napoli last weekend, but it was a fortunate win in my opinion and on another day, a match they could have lost comfortably. Ahead of the fixture I wrote:

There is not an awful lot for the pair to play for, the visitors are going to finish third and Parma somewhere between 6th and 9th. However, Napoli are coming off one of their performances of the season in a very impressive 2-0 defeat of Juventus and they have looked strong on the road all season (9-3-3) , where they get more space to exploit and showcase their talents. The hosts were unbeaten in 17 ( 9-8-3) until losing their last three, through which they have conceded 11 goals, all came on the road and were tough fixtures, Juve, Lazio and Roma, but the previous result was a 1-1 home draw with Genoa and it might well be that the tough schedule has caught up on them in recent weeks, with games coming thick and fast, this will be their fifth start inside 14 days. They are without some key players today, veteran striker Amauri (25-6-1) and "ancient" central defender Alessandro Lucarelli (29-4-1) are both suspended, which robs them of their two senior players and almost three decades of top flight experience. Defensive midfielder Wálter Gargano is sidelined (18-1-1 ...Parma have won just twice without him) amongst others and gifted central defender Gabriel Paletta and mercurial striker Antonio Cassano have been struggling with knocks, both have made the squad, but might not be 100%.

Antonio Cassano is out today, but Gargano, Amauri and Lucarelli (see above) have all made the squad . I understand a late decision will be made on Gargano, out for sure is creative midfielder
Marco Parolo (31-8-6) , he will be missed, the last two games he sat out were a 0-0 home draw with Cagliari and 3-0 home defeat to Udinese on this day last season. The visitors might have their eye on 5th spot, but Bologna are fighting for survial and will see this, with the visitors missing two of their best players ( Cassano and Parolo have scored 19 goals and assisted with 12 others) and with another probably not able to play more than an hour, as a real opportunity. They go to Turin to face Juventus next week and points today seem a lot easier to come by.

Good Luck.
