Conference National: Macclesfield Town- Barrow AFC

Barrow will move into 5th and the playoff positions with all three points. Macclesfield would go level on points with the visitors with a game in hand should they win and both teams should only really have eyes on the main prize. There are effectively seven teams battling for what might only be one remaining post season spot and no one is going to take that by settling for a draw, when three points are on offer. Barrow's last four starts have all gone "over", as have their last three and 5/6 on the road, Town' s last four home league games have also produced three or more goals. H2h wise, last two meetings here at Moss Rose were "over" and both teams have scored in 5/6 in the series.

I like the loan singing of Shaun Tuton (pictured) for Barrow from Barnsley and it is a good chance for the clubs to benefit and the striker to re-kick start his professional career. After playing only at 7th tier and below, he made the move to Halifax who play at this level and earned his first pro contract last season,it was only a one year deal and he took a while to make step up, but did so and nine goals and an assist in his last ten starts and his overall performance got a lot of attention and the usual comparisons for late developing goalscorers at that level with Jamie Vardy. Championship bound Barnsley took a chance, but he did not make the breakthrough, or even score a goal there, or on loan to a L2 team this season, but back in the National on Saturday, he scored on his Barrow debut and obviously, for now, this is his level and where he feels comfortable. That's 10 goals in 11 in National starts and you can see he retains his confidence if you take a quick look at the goal he scored against Aldershot at the weekend, where he ran for 70 metres and beat three men, before putting the ball in the net from the edge of the area.

On the minus side, AFCB had both starting full backs Shaun Beeley and Nick Anderton sent off in that game and they will be suspended this evening, but the visitors are determined to get into the top 5 race and signed an additional three young players on loan from Championship clubs this week, but will be a little light at the back this evening.

Barrow made the very long trip down to Surrey and back at the weekend and finished with nine men, Town made a ten hour round trip to Torquay and one or both teams might tire badly tonight with the quick turnaround. Regardless of which, this match should definitely produce goals and I will opt for ..............

Good Luck.
