Both teams still have a chance to qualify from Group E, where Barcelona lead with 10 points, from Roma on 5, Bayer having 4 and BATE on 3. The Catalan giants who are on top of the world after that 4-0 win in Madrid over the weekend are hosting Roma and that gives a real opportunity for one of these two to take charge of second place and leave their destiny in their own hands. A win for Barcelona would be a terrific additional bonus for Bayer, who would then be hosting the Spanish team in Leverkusen on Matchday 6 with their opponent having already sealed first place and having nothing left to play for, that is a massive incentive and with that match also coming just days after Barce's trip to Valencia for their next "big" league game, the schedule is starting to look kind to the German side. Bayer have hit a rich vein of goal scoring form over the last month with 22 goals in seven starts, they have been a little too free and easy at the other end of the pitch, but that offensive threat and the 4-1 win they recorded in the reverse fixture, will mean they will travel confident that they can score enough goals to keep progression in their own hands, provided Barcelona keep their side of the equation.
