Premier League: Brighton- Liverpool
Hosts have more to play for, will move up to 8th with the win and everyone wants to beat the champions. However, their overall play looks to have regressed a little this season and as I have said previously, what appears a more physical approach is not playing to their strengths and they have had three players sent off in their last 11 starts and it should have been at least one more. The Seagulls have also conceded 5 goals in their last three home games (scoring six) , including 2 each to bottom six teams ( 2-2 Leicester /3-2 West Ham) and whilst they only gave up one to Newcastle United, the Magpies xGF was just shy of two goals too.
Liverpool have played twice since they won the league title, a 3-1 defeat at Chelsea and 2-2 home draw with Arsenal. They were wide open games which saw a respective xG of 4.2 and 5.0, with 8 BC's in each, the woodwork hit three times and an average of 28.5 attempts on goal, 22 ITB with 71 and 72 TIPA's (very equal split of all of these ), these are enormous numbers! Liverpool have been the best offensive unit all season in the EPL and by a very long way, but defensively, some issues that have been hidden just under the surface this season have returned now that they are playing with less intensity. We should be treated to another mini shootout.
Brighton's last six games have seen BTS in the opening half on three occasions (the Seagulls scored in the opening 45 minutes in each) and that was also the case in two of the last three h2h meetings between these two sides at the AmEx. Actually, BTS before the break in 5 of the last 7 h2h games.
90 minute suggestion : 1.75 units "over" 3.5 goals @ 2.21 asian line.
45 minute options: both teams to score in the first half @ 3.40+ or "over" 1.5 goals @ 2.20.
Good luck!
