Don't miss out!

clubgowi is a 52 weeks of the year service, but we have that rarest of days today, one with no newsletter! We have a busy week ahead from tomorrow and I did have a preview yesterday, which you can read below, obviously, that will not be included in free to view content results, along with the schedule for the rest of this week. In those notes we looked how the home side had come a long way perhaps too quickly and had tired in the first leg and how the visitors were better on the road, but had suffered this season with a first European campaign and a lot of extra games, in spite of which, they were basically the side who finished 8th last season. There were also notes from the visting head coach setting out how he had prepared for the game, which I felt were interesting. Anyway, Heidenheim won 2-1 and it was a good start to the week.
You can get ALL of the clubgowi summer newsletters for free, some 50-60 emails, along with a low price long term sign up, it is a fantastic offer, giving you a chance to ease into the service at ultra low cost, email for full details, don't miss out!

On the personnel:
"Personnel-wise, it looks like everyone except Luka Janes will be there when we train right now. That's what I'm currently assuming!"
On the schedule since Thursday evening:
"We didn't train hard or have a high intensity in training, that should be clear. It was about recovering and thoroughly and intensively reviewing the game with the team. We showed what went well and what we need to improve. I also said this directly after the game: that we need to better implement the insights we gained from the game overall. We demonstrated this clearly in the video analysis. So it was a preparation for the second game, where we took the content into account in detail. In today's final training session, we'll focus tactically on how we want to play tomorrow."
On the insights from the first leg:
"I don't really want to go into too much detail. It was important that the team saw exactly what wasn't so good in the first half. We were 2-0 down. Things were much better in the second half. Elversberg's chances, in particular, were a big issue for us again, and they always had similar origins. But we focused more on what we did well and what we could have done better. We had a lot of shots on goal, especially shots inside the box. Especially towards the end, we had situations where we could have completely turned the game around. In the first half, we had quite a few offensive moves, but we rarely finished them off or didn't quite finish. We also had enough scoring opportunities in the second half. Along with our defense, that was the main point for us, and where we see great opportunities tomorrow."
On the importance of substitutes in a match plan:
"It's also about asking yourself which of my players will be better suited to the second half than if they were starting. I believe that tomorrow is our 48th game of the season, and there are naturally many lessons to be learned over such a long season. Many things are simply different than last season. But we already have an overview and know what we need at any given time. People often say, 'Why isn't he playing?' But if he's substituted, he'll play anyway. I can only say again that I have a clear view of this and will always make the decisions I think are right."
