Monaco inside an hour .......

football betting tips -

You can read yesterday's clubgowi subscriber newsletter below in full, obviously it will not be counted with the FTV results, but gives a good look at what we are trying to achieve and look for on a daily basis. After opposing and "bad mouthing" Liverpool for quite some time, we went with them yesterday , but still used their defensive frailities to land a second bet and the suggested 3-1 correct score.  Monaco also won by the same scoreline and although I feel a little sorry that I didn't take some of the 7.0 for them to win, our bet at odds of 3.20 was done and dusted inside 56 minutes. BMG did score but came up well short in a 4-1 defeat and might have found a second goal had they kept 11 men on the pitch, but they were a very long shot.

Today (Saturday), I have sent subscribers previews of six games, across four leagues/competitions, with betting suggestions at odds of between 1.96 ( bit short for us) and 3.63 and I will try and post one here on the website a little later. These emails cost as little as 58p per day ATM, which is next to nothing for a quality product which has stood the test of time, 20 years at the end of this month! Email for full details.

Hard to put into words exactly what you are watching with Tottenham at the moment. I want to be critical of all those senior players, but can't be bothered......like most of them!

FA Cup: Wolverhampton Wanderers- Liverpool

These two met here at Molineux on Tuesday in the league.....

Wolves played at home on Friday, beating Aston Villa 2-0 which has given them a little longer to prepare for today and , for my stating the obvious comment of the day, they have had no travel to deal with. Ahead of that win my notes had included....Of course, Villa could not have an easier road game (on paper) than today, with Wolves already planning for the Championship and it is also a short journey, with Villa Park only 34km from Molineux. However, we also know that Wolves are not that historically bad side a team in their position and with their points total traditionally are and, if they play as well as they did in the second half of their last home game, a 2-2 draw with Arsenal, they will probably win and they have a solid h2h home record unbeaten in four and winning 5 of 7.

Liverpool are building up a head of steam, but don't be overly fooled by that and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, they cannot defend. Their last two games have seen them win 1-0 at Forest, where they rode their luck big time and "hammer" ( see what I did there!) West Ham United 5-2 on Saturday. The key fact from that game is that the Irons scored twice and it could/should have been three and 3-3/4-3 would not have been a totally unfair reflection of what we saw. Liverpool cannot defend corners or crosses into the box and that has been an issue for a VERY long time and how they have only conceded 37 goals ( which is still more than three bottom half of the table teams) will have to remain a mystery!

Wolves scored in the reverse fixture ,a 2-1 defeat, just after Christmas and are playing with a little more confidence now and are under no real pressure.

Liverpool dominated, were very wasteful and Wolves scored twice from not very much, but won 2-1.

Manchester United and Aston Villa lost too, so the Reds did not really lose much ground in the race for what will be top 5 to claim a Champions League spot. Wolves remain effectively 13 points from EPL safety, with 24 left to play for and are doomed, but are at least battling and laying down some groundwork for next season. I expect both to be up for tonight, but Liverpool do play Galatasaray in Istanbul on Tuesday (CL) and have to name a starting 11 tonight with that in mind. Defensively that doesn't overly matter, as they cannot defend anyway (sorry, hard to get that broken record off the decks!) and offensively they have more than enough options to score 2-3 goals, which they should have done in midweek and it appears that Florian Wirtz will be fit to return and play some part. Also, this time it should be Liverpool who are favoured by the quick turnaround given their greater depth and that Wolves did a LOT of running without the ball on Tuesday. The Reds will also have a lot of supporters in the stadium, their allocation was close to 5,000  (different rules in the cup) and Wolves put their remaining tickets on general sale and plenty of those will have found their way to Liverpool fans, who find a way to get in everywhere.

1-3/1-4 feels about right this time.

Bundesliga: Bayern MunichBorussia Mönchengladbach

We have landed three from three in Bayern's last two starts, including bets for Dortmund (2.40) and Frankfurt (4.33) to score twice and whilst almost all of the optimism that BMG came into the season with has evaporated, I feel we have no option but to try for the hat-trick! Expected numbers give BMG an additional five points and importantly an extra 7 goals. Of even greater importance is the fact that the visitors are one of a select few who do not fear Bayern. They have scored 9 goals and won three times on eight trips to the Allianz and in the last 10 reverse meetings, have scored 18 goals and won five and that compares favourably with pretty much any other Bundesliga side against the Bavarian giants. Bayern will also have one eye on a difficult trip to Bergamo to play Atalanta on Tuesday having watched the hosts demolish Dortmund in that stadium just 9 days ago.

Bayern are missing a couple of key starters, including 30 goal Harry Kane and will be mindful of picking up any other injuries and the England striker is, of course , a big loss and has been ever present this season in all competitions! Bayern were 1-1-1 in the three league games he missed last season, conceding 7 goals , 2+ in each and some defending starts from the front!

You know me too well to think that I am swerving this game!

The two met here in the Parc des Princes just nine days ago and those notes are reproduced at the foot of this email. ASM did indeed score twice, despite playing 38 minutes with 10 men and created 4 BC's in a 2-2 draw. Of course, PSG did not need to win that and they would like to today, but do not have to and they will surely see the upcoming visit from Chelsea as more important.
Monaco only have the league left and will be straining every sinew to try and finish top 4 and find a way back to the Champions League. If they play as well as they did last week and keep 11 men on the pitch they have a chance of winning this.

Paris Saint Germain- AS Monaco (written February 25th)

PSG won the first leg 3-2 ahead of which my notes went a lot like this ....

It's all just a little bit of history repeating! At this stage of the competition last season PSG were top of Ligue 1 (twas ever thus) and they were drawn to play fellow French side Stade Brestois who were 8th in the table and the Parisians won 10-0 on aggregate and never really looked back from that point on. This season they again missed out on top 8 and have drawn another Ligue 1 side in the Knockout Phase playoffs, AS Monaco who are, yes, you guessed it, 8th! There is a difference, as PSG are not 10 points clear at the top of the table, they are actually 2nd, albeit only 5 points worse off than at this stage 12 months ago, but that should only further serve to make them want to get this tie done and dusted ASAP.

PSG only really started to look like the best team in Europe last season as 2024 turned into 2025 and it is only now that they have all of their big names back as Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Joao Neves and Achraf Hakimi have all missed significant periods with injury and the latter was also at AFCON. There can be no excuses now, this feels like a big month for them, through which they can get back on track in Champions League and domestically and Monaco look a pale imitation of the team I thought they could be this season, and they trail PSG by 20 points. The two teams met in this stadium in November and ASM won 1-0, but PSG were without four stars, all of whom will feature today and still did enough to have won that and they will want revenge today and to also try and lay down a marker to the rest of Europe, which they did in those two games with Brest last season. ASM are injury hit and will be without 7-9 senior players (maybe six who featured in the last h2h meeting).
It was a wild game, ASM led 2-0 , then PSG missed a penalty, but went in at the break all square and when Monaco had a player sent off early in the second half, 5-2 /6-2 felt likely and perhaps it should have been but the Parisians were very wasteful and their third goal took too long in coming and ASM opted for damage limitation and to keep themselves in the tie. I cannot see beyond PSG progressing, but it was hard not to like Monaco's performance last midweek and also their one at the weekend where they trailed 2-0 at then Ligue 1 leaders Lens, before scoring three unanswered goals in the final 30 minutes to claim a  very unlikely win and surely that will give them confidence today. Monaco can have great periods within games and score quickly, 3 in 10 minutes at Lens, two in 17 in the home leg and 3 in FIVE minutes in their previous league game. I am going with them to score twice today, they have done so on 3 of 6 previous visits to the Parc des Princes and if this game "breaks out" and it has that potential, any scoreline is possible, albeit with PSG progressing.

This is my best bet of the day, mainly (always ?) because of the odds.....
