Bundesliga: Koln- Union Berlin
These two are unbeaten and were both in action on Thursday in Europe, Union lost at home, Koln got a draw at Nice in a game which was delayed and got a lot of media attention for crowd "trouble" and the sheer number of supporters who travelled to France from Germany. I would argue that it was the more stressful encounter and we can add in the travel and distractive nature given the events of the day.

Hard not to be impressed with Union, they were promoted in 2018/19 and have finished 11th/7th /5th and who would bet against them going one better this season and all done on a miniscule budget, whilst constantly selling key players. Head coach Urs Fischer and his staff have done an amazing job and surely someone will notice one day! Maybe they have and he just loves it at Union!
Bayern are scoring for fun, 26 goals in six competitive starts , but that huge offensive talent does mean they are not over concerned about conceding and they have just five clean sheets in 22 away starts, giving up two goals nine times, while also winning 13 of the last 18 which includes a 5-2 win here last October. Looking at the four h2h meetings in the last two seasons, Union have scored in three (two draws) and created 3 BC's and an xG of 1.40.
That finished 1-1 with both goals coming before the break and it was pretty much the last really positive result I recorded!
Plenty to like from that and I would not read too much into the midweek loss, they rested several players and should have got at least a point and I do not doubt that today's game was the priority of their week. They have a tremendous record in this series, the two clubs have met eight times in the last four years and Union are unbeaten with six wins, scoring two + goals in six and conceding just six total. Union can go top, at least for two hours with the win and I expect them to claim it, or go very close.
