We are coming off a winning week at clubgowi, which stopped the "rot" after three consecutive losing weeks.
We actually had one bad week, one terrible day and quite a bit of bad luck in the last month, but it was kind of overdue, we had won 11 of 12 weeks previously and that has to be "paid for" somewhere down the line.
You know the dip in form has to come, but it is no less frustrating when it does and I was relieved to get back on track before the very busy Christmas/ New Year period.
We sided with Cagliari last week ....

Evergrande are clubgowi darlings, we must have bet them ten times over the last three seasons and they have never let us down, notes from their Saturday win over Al-Ahly are reproduced below, along with two further previews to give some background information. I am really pleased that they got the match up they came for and if the run is going to end here and it probably will, it will be a remarkable end to an amazing couple of years.
Aside from the Champions League they is not too much for us to discuss today , the FIFA Club World Cup does get underway in Morocco , but Raja Casablanca - Auckland City hardly gets the heart beating a little faster and we can wait until the bigger boys arrive. They do not come any bigger in Asia than Guangzhou Evergrande and I must admit that I am a little excited to see how our email favourites get on, but the competition does not start in earnest until Saturday and we can wait until then.
UEFA Champions League:
Straddling this game like the Sword of Damocles, is Juve's midweek trip to Galatasaray in the Champions League, where they have to avoid defeat to progress to the knock out stage, having already struggled against the Turkish champions in Turin, they will be well aware of what awaits them in Istanbul. Holding a healthy three point advanatge over Roma at the top of Serie A, I know full well that Juve would snatch your arm off for a 1-0 win this evening and if they do take the lead, I expect them to go into their shell and conserve as much energy as possible for Tuesday.
