We have discussed Fire as much as virtually any team over the last month and as recently as Wednesday, that preview and some previous notes are reproduced at the foot of this email.

I was originally interested in Jordan for their home World Cup qualifier with Oman, the hosts need to win to keep their qualification hopes alive, but things have not been going their way recently and the more I think about this match, the harder/ more open it looks. Firstly, they suffered that heavy 4-0 defeat to Australia last week , which was hardly good for their confidence, they did lose 6-0 in Japan last year and then bounced back to win at home to Australia in their next group game, but there was over three months between games and time for the mental scars to heal.
You will see from the post below that we backed US Open winner Justin Rose to win yesterday at circa 10.0, we also took a little on Jason Day @ 18.0 and he finished in a tie for second.
The only other outright bet we had all week on the golf, or other bet bet at all, at the Open, was for Charl Schwartzel to finish top 20, which is also detailed in the previous post and he finished in 14th.
Our sole position on the US Open (see below) looks good with Charl Schwartzel just one stroke off the lead in a three way tie for second place, more importantly for us, he has a nice seven stroke buffer over the players outside the top 20, he has shot 70-71-69 this week and even a 76 or 77 in Round 4 ,would probably get the job done, but let's hope he doesn't cut things that fine ! The Italian U21 side (see post below) won for us yesterday and I hope that some of backed them, they were perhaps a little fortunate, but that will make up for one or two of the others that go against us during the course of the season.

Rafa's form has improved with the warmer weather and we are set for what is likely to be the hottest day of the tournament, he was also helped by meeting a man in the quarter finals (Stanislas Wawrinka) against whom he is 22-0 lifetime in sets and who couldn't beat him on a best/worst day respectively.
Both teams will surely be pleased with the group draw, they have avoided competition favourites Spain and Germany, the always dangerous Netherlands and unknown factor Russia, who are all drawn in Group B. That leaves host nation Israel, who, aside from the youngest player in their squad are entirely home based and Norway who lost twice to England in qualification and are without four key players for the opening match at least.
We came up short with Columbus Crew yesterday, they had more than enough chances to have won with a degree of comfort , you can see highlights here, the miss at 06.51 after Higuain has hit the woodwork, has to be seen to be believed !

I "only" went with four selections in the end today, ( one is reproduced below) ,but did stick with two "very strong" 1.75 unit selections.
