1,036 weeks ago!

clubgowi will be 20 years old come March 31st.
We began as the Gambling and Other Wholesome Interests (GOWI) blog at a time when the average shelf life of a sports betting blog/site was three weeks and here we are, 1,036 weeks later! It is a remarkable achievement IMO and one of which I feel very proud.
In late March 2006, Blackburn Rovers (5th) , Bolton Wanderers (7th) , Wigan Athletic (8th) and Charlton Athletic (11th) were all well established in the Premier League and, as incredible as it sounds, at least three of those teams felt that their manager was underachieving! We should all be careful what we wish for!
Brentford, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest were all in League 1 and Brighton were shortly to join them, being bottom of the Championship.
As crazy as that might be, playing Serie A football in Italy were Treviso, Messina, Siena, Reggina, Ascoli, Livorno and Chievo all now consigned to third or (mostly) fourth tier football. Juventus were about to be relegated (Calciopoli scandal) and Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio survived, despite each being deducted 30 points! Atalanta, Torino and Bologna were in Serie B and Napoli in Serie C!
At the time I was writing the first blog notes, Tony Blair was UK Prime Minister, George W Bush President of the US, Saddam Hussein was on trial and Sven-Göran Eriksson was still England manager. Airbnb, Instagram, Fitbit, Uber, Tinder, Spotify were all still ideas yet to be developed, Facebook was in its infancy, the first iphone was a year away from being released. A.I was just a movie! Amazon and Tesla were ticking along nicely but few, not even Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk would have tipped them to enter the 2020's as amongst the world's most valuable brands (ok, Musk might have done !). Donald Trump.........no, don't get me started! It was a very long time ago, but clubgowi is still around and churning out quality products daily, delivered daily to the inbox of subscribers.
To mark this occasion we have a very special offer, which basically offers a full subscription with 11/12 months free and at a monthly cost of £17.50 (our lowest ever!). Email for details.
Good luck!
