City to take pole position .....
Jun 26, 2025

FIFA Club World Cup:
Group G:
Juventus- Manchester City...... Orlando 20:00 UK time(15:00 local)
Wydad AC- Al Ain.......Washington 20:00 UK time(15:00 local)
Juventus and City have already qualified. The Serie A side will win the group with a win or draw, the EPL team need to win to clinch top spot. Only pride and prize money are at stake in Washington.
Hot, humid and stormy at both venues.
Group H
| Pos | Team |
Pld | W | D | L | GF | GA | GD | Pts | Qualification |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 4 | 2 | +2 | 4 | Advance to knockout stage | |
| 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 1 | +1 | 4 | ||
| 3 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 2 | ||
| 4 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 2 | 5 | −3 | 0 |
Al Hilal-Pachuca.....Nashville 02:00 UK (20:00 local)
RB Salzburg- Real Madrid ........Philadelphia 02:00 UK ( 21:00 local)
Pachuca are eliminated and Al Hilal need to win and hope that there is a winner in the other game, or that it finishes 0-0, if 1-1 then Al Hilal also needs to score a few goals, 2-2 would see RBS progress and the Saudi team eliminated.
More of the same weatherwise (see above) at these two cities.
Do you want to win the group ?
The winner of Group G will play in Orlando on Monday against the Group H runner up and that is the same stadium that City and Juve meet in today and only a 2-3 hour drive from the City training base..
The winner of Group H will play in Miami a day later against the Group G runner up and also be on schedule to meet PSG in the semi final.
I would say that Real and City would want to avoid each other and PSG if at all possible and City can at least do the latter by winning the group and that puts them in the "easier" side of the draw IMO and they can then hope that Real win later in the day. If the Madrid side then also won the group, they would face Juve, then possibly Dortmund and hope that PSG lost to someone else (Flamengo/Bayern?). If Juve top Group G, then surely Real would want to finish second and then be on the opposite side of the draw to Man City and PSG.
Lots of ifs and buts,however, I do think that City are much the better team, will want to win and Juventus have had that awfully arranged schedule (see below) that we have previously discussed.
1.75 units Manchester City -1 ball @ 2.60 asian line.... not much else appeals today at the CWC.
Good luck!
Juventus had a very easy win over Al Ain to start their tournament, but played in Washington in the late game, so a nine hour difference between the start times, which, with such a quick turnaround, is, I feel, significant. If you play @ 21:00, that probably means getting to bed at 2-3 am earliest and then playing three days later when you have barely digested breakfast, which will not be "breakfast" in any case, it is not usual and Juve will have travelled too. They are based in Greenbrier, West Virginia (why?) that is four hours from Washington, six from Philly and a two hour flight from Orlando where they play on Matchday 3! It makes no sense at all and I would not even ask the Juve staff to organise, let's call it a party in a brewery!
