Premier League: Manchester City- Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wanderers have suddenly become newsletter regulars and ahead of a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United last week I , hopefully, highlighted why ....
Wanderers went to Old Trafford for their New Year fixture and my usual anti Manchester United notes finished with .....Wolves are in a sorry state and position, but their last three away starts have seen them lose 2-1 to both Liverpool and Arsenal and 1-0 to Aston Villa where they were arguably the better side and that trio are all superior to United, possibly by some way. I would not totally rule out the upset, which would be the third Wolves win at Old Trafford in five visits. In fact, if they play as well as they did at Villa Park, I think they will win.
They didn't win, but should have, having to settle for a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Wolves have played three games subsequently ....

They have obviously re-found some confidence and goals and head coach Rob Edwards has got a real reaction out of them and Molineux is once again a fun place to visit, at least for home fans, for others, it might just be the worst away day in the EPL!
There is plenty to like about how they are now playing and credit to take from their last five away starts.
Just two wins in seven 2026 starts for City and one of those against third tier opposition.....

Their last two results and performances have been awful, they are vulnerable right now and need to win on Wednesday to try and secure a Champions League top 8 place, factor in the midweek trip to Nordland and back and we can take them on at massive odds.
