The Bianca Andreescu- Garbine Muguruza match I previewed for subscribers yesterday (see below), encapsulated exactly why I love WTA tennis for betting purposes. Players can just come back to form super quick and refind their touch afer weeks, months, sometimes even years out of the game and you can bet world class players at massive odds. Andreescu is top 5 as a minimum and we knew she had given herself the best chance possible with the addition of Abdul Sillah to her team. The 26.0 for her to win Miami is now down to 7.0-7.50 and in very few sports could you bet a top 5 player/team to win a knockout event at 25-1 with 16 remaining . Golf is probably the only other sport where you can regularly bet a world class player in a winning postion at those kinds of odds.

Bianca Andreescu- Garbine Muguruza is the late show and the Canadian star and 2019 US Open champion is already on that schedule having beaten Amanda Anisimova in the match which finished play yesterday. Andreescu missed the whole of 2020 with injury, but if you were ever going to sit out a year on Tour, that was the one ! She returned at the Australian Open losing in R2, but then did make the semi finals in the Phillip Island Trophy, her only subsequent event and then returned home to continue her rehabilitation and up her fitness levels. To that end, she has been working with fitness guru and high performance coach Abdul Sillah . He has worked with Serena, Naomi and Sloane (you know you are big when you can just use your first name !) and has a sky high reputation, when he started working with Osaka the results were instant and she had that breakthrough Indian Wells win within weeks, her first WTA title. Sillah is also known for his motivational talks.

If anyone is interested, this 27 minute youtube video gives a huge insight to what Sillah brings to the party ! If you watch it, he will probably convince you that you could win on the ATP or WTA tour ! I cannot believe it has less than 1,000 views ! All of us can take something from the video.

It looks like he has been working with Andreescu for at least two weeks here in Florida, they were definitely training in Boca Raton 13 days ago, he has had exceptional success and doubly so with players returning from injury, so it feels like a fantastic appointment . I don't think that Andreescu needs a lot of tennis to reach a high level and we see it often on the WTA Tour that players come back to top form in double quick time. In 2019 she retired early at Roland Garros with injury, did not play for three months and came straight back and won the Canadian Masters and US Open tournaments back to back !

Garbine Muguruza is a great player and when her mind and game allign she can win any tournament, but for me, she struggles with the mental side of well, hard to sat what ........... tennis/life/the tour at times and we have discussed this previously and I could "never" back her at low odds, as those issues can always reappear and seemingly in an instant with Garbine. She was out returned by #115 ranked Anna Kalinskaya yesterday and should have lost. I see this as close and Andreescu's chance of winning as far greater than 30%, which, at the end of the day, is all that matters.

1.75 units Bianca Andreescu to beat Garbine Muguruza 3.33 Pinancle/Sportmarket Pro.

Andreescu is 21.0-26.0 to win the Miami Open, I am not sure that she will ever be those odds again with 16 players left in any event. She faces Tormo/Jabeur next if she wins and if she makes the last 4 I think we can assume her fitness levels are fine and then she can beat anyone. That might be the best bet on offer today and if you can take it, I think you should , at least for something small (0.75 units).

Good luck !
