PGA Tour: Wyndham Championship

Top 70 players on the FedEx standings will qualify for the playoff series which starts next week and there are some big names on the outside looking in......

76th currently. Shane Lowry , he needs a top 20 finish to force his way back in.

79. Justin Thomas (pictured).....how the mighty have fallen! JT is having an awful time of things and it is getting very painful to watch, a little like rubbernecking on the motorway! He needs to finish 18th or better to have a chance.

81. Adam Scott, the Aussie needs a top 10, he would have coasted in but plays a very limited schedule nowadays. Has a chance if he wants this and was runner up here at the Sedgefield GC two years ago.

Lesser known players who need a good week are .......

74. David Lingmerth, the 36 yo Swedish golfer played well at the Scottish Open (3rd) and then made the cut at the Open, before making the brave decision to sit out last week and putting all his eggs in this Wyndham basket and in 2021 he did shoot three rounds at 68 or better here.

73. KH Lee, many will be looking to pass him as the Korean has been running in quicksand for weeks and has missed 6/7 cuts and finished almost last of those that did in the other.

72. Garrick Higgo , really running into form finishing 33-21-19-13 in his last four starts, having missed the cut in three of those events last season and the only just turned 24yo has learned a lot when playing courses for a second time, just as he does this week. South African sportsmen have good temperaments and can usually be relied upon to take opportunities which come their way. He is a proven winner on multiple tours despite his youth and will surely go well.

Good luck!
