Club friendly: Braintree Town- Colchester United betting preview

Braintree Town- Colchester United

I favour the non league side here, this is a big "derby" game for them and they will be buoyed after already seeing off one local league team, beating Southend United 2-1, afterwards boss Alan Devonshire said he was very pleased as United fielded their strongest team for an hour and Town more than matched them. They followed up with a 0-0 draw against what is likely to be a strong L2 team this season in Portsmouth and they should be able to avoid defeat against a U's team who played Tottenham Hotspur last night.  They drew that 0-0 infront of a sell out home crowd, that was a much higher profile game ( obviously ) and it was an impressive performance, Colchester could be a bit of a surprise package this season and I will definitely be looking at them in the first week or two, but do not rush to oppose them at short odds, they are 100-1 shots in L1 and I do not think that is a fair reflection. Anyway, for now, they are going to have to field the B team today, it will be a mixture of largely oldies and youngsters and  Marcus Bean, Magnus Okuonghae, Daniel Pappoe and Gavin Massey are also set to be named in the U's starting line-up, after appearing as substitutes in the Tottenham game. At any stage of the season, let alone this, especially with the current weather conditions, that will be tough. There is 1.80 Braintree +0.25 ball asian line/Ibramarket, I prefer the general quote of 2.0-2.10 draw no bet, as 1.80 is below my minimum, but the choice is up to you .... 1.25 units.

Good Luck.
