Italy Serie A :

Catania have resigned Francesco Lodi from Genoa, he was a key player (33-6-7 in 2012-13) in the side which finished 8th last season and won 12 home games and the beauty with this deal is that he should slot right back in immediately.

Bologna remain without young Danish central defender Frederik Sörensen ( 9-0-0 and are 1-2-5 in his absence), right back György Garics (16-1-2....without a win in 7 without him) is suspended.

Milan are looking for a ninth straight win in this Epiphany round of games, they will amost certainly have Adil Rama, who has signed from Valencia, making his debut in central defence, Sulley Muntari, Ignazio Abate and Stephan El Shaarawy are sidelined, but Riccardo Montolivo and Robinho return and Giampaolo Pazzini and Alessandro Matri should be much closer to full fitness now after coming back into the squad recently.

Atalanta remain without a couple of experienced defenders including centre back Stefano Lucchini (9-1-0....lost 6/8 without him, 3/9 when he plays), but do get 37 yo fellow central defender Mario Yepes back in the squad for the first time since late October.

USPGA Tour: Hyundai Tournament of Champions

Long standing readers with good memories will know that this is traditionally a very good tournament for us and hopefully we can turn a profit today.

The full leaderboard and "in running" action can be viewed on the PGA website, there are 15 golfers within five strokes of the lead, all are proven winners, that is the nature of this event, which is open to players who won on Tour in 2013, however, it will be very difficult to pick up three strokes plus on the very strong trio of co-leaders. A two or three stroke lead can disappear in the blink of an eye on a golf course when it is held by one player, but is not so easy to overcome when you are chasing down three strong players. GOWI favourite Zach Johnson, who has done us many favours in the past, is only two back and definitely not out of things, but his 74 yesterday was very disappointing when he had an opportunity to run away from the field (two clear with nine to play and played those holes in +2) and his putter was stone cold.

My "problem" with Webb Simpson is that like Zach Johnson he has not hit enough greens in regulation this week, it caught up with Zach yesterday and I feel in the heat of battle today, it could do likewise to WS and I am still not fully convinced that, despite being a four time tour winner at just 28yo and that includes a major, he wins quite as often as he should and his #137 ranking for R4 scoring in 2012, highlights what we sometimes see from him in the final round. He can win of course, but ......

Good Luck.
