FA Cup: Bracknell Town- Ipswich Town

I live about 25 minutes drive away from the Bracknell Town ground and have passed it many times, but never been inside. It is tiny, capacity circa 1,900 and Town have traditionally played at tier 8 or 9 on the football pyramid, they are on a bit of an upward curve at present and playing at level 7, but this is only the second time in their history that they have played in the FA Cup first round. It was an achievement just to reach this stage and there are 104 places between the two clubs on the pyramid. Ipswich are a famous old club and despite falling on hard times in recent years and currently playing in League 1, they are second in the table at present, six points clear of the team in 4th and heavily favoured for promotion. They are scoring 2.06 goals pg, have an average home attendance of just under 26,000 which is incredible for a third tier team and highlights their true standing and that is 75 times the number who usually watch Bracknell (just under 350!). Ipswich should never be playing lower than the Championship and look at that level currently. With the football world watching and most neutrals hoping for an upset, they will want to not only avoid that at all costs, but impress. Bracknell are not a professional team and most players and coaching staff are working today, at least half a day and meeting at a local hotel (facilities have been given to them free of charge) in early/mid afternoon and that is the life of semi-pro footballers, just normally without the hotel meet. Ipswich are very strong on the road and have the best away record in not just League 1, but the top 7 divisions of English football and should ultimately have the class to win this by 2-4 goals, with far greater fitness levels likely to see them boss the final 30-40 minutes on what will be a heavy/draining playing surface.
