Feeling comfortable .............

football betting tips -

You saw the Wimbledon R16 notes yesterday (post below) and the six bets I put up produced four winners at odds of 2.13/ 2.06/2.27/2.09 with the biggest priced selection having the larget suggested stake and therefore, bet of the day status.

I have previewed five games today, three football (Copa/Euros/Brazil) and two from Wimbledon, with a single bet in each at odds of between 2.09-2.87, almost everything I bet personally is at odds of 2.05 + and usually 2.20 +. I do occasionally put something up in the newsletter at sub 2.0 but I am only talking circa 1.96 and very rarely, I doubt if that happens more than 3-4 times per year on average and that from circa 1,800 match previews, it is just not my thing !

With my personal betting, if I can bet 50% winners with that policy I will make a decent living and that is a basic target I feel comfortable with and which has served me well for many years.

I am talking asian /Vegas markets of course as that is all you can really bet day in day out.

Of course, I am not saying you should never bet lower odds, everything that is overpriced offers value and should be bet and if you can play something at 1.85 (54.05%) that you feel is a genuine 1.60 (62.5%) chance, then you should get involved and probably strongly, but even if I found that gem, I would still give up the bigger handicap line to come up with my preferred odds range and in that example, that would still offer good value.

I have quite a few "rules" beyond the obvious like looking for value-not winners, not chasing losses and betting stakes that I can afford to lose and these guidelines are all geared to making me feel more "comfortable" than "disciplined", I think I am the latter to a degree, but that doesn't include overly limiting myself on number of bets, I need to make an income so my minimum requirement is to bet enough games/matches to generate the volume to make that possible. But everything I do bet ticks all my boxes.

If you want to push yourself and be outside your comfort zone look elsewhere, take up sky diving or bungee jumping, they are far less dangerous options than gambling recklessly.
