Five rounds left to play in J-league 1 and we are going to have some great positions to (hopefully) take advantage of in the coming weeks .

 

 

 

Only target for Vortis is 16th place, with four teams relegated this season and that has been their sole aim since promotion was attained last season. They are currently 17th, the teams in 14th and above look out of reach, but there are two clubs within two points and they both have difficult road games today, so a win might take the home side up to a lofty 15th, which is almost nosebleed level ! 

 

Cerezo are a good team, MUCH better than 12th place indicates and ahead of a recent home game with second placed Yokohama F.Marinos, I put up a case to bet them at big odds (4.0 +) .........

 

Cerezo were 4th last season, 13 points ahead of YFM and they made the knockout stage of the Champions League this season , have been doing battle on four fronts, are in the League Cup final and last 8 of the Emperor's Cup, both of which are to be played this month. They have been hit and miss in the league and do throw in the odd howler, but will surely want to find some form to take into the two cup games ,have had two long weeks to prepare for this and odds are just too big and, if Frontale win, I would say that Cerezo are almost a full point longer than they should be.

 

They won that 2-1, then progressed in the Emperor's Cup (which gives them a route back into the Champions League), but lost in the League Cup final last weekend in Saitama and it might be very hard for them to lift themselves for a mundane league game and this will effectively be their third straight away game inside 8 days and this is the least important. 

 

Cerezo can raise them themselves of course and are the better team, but hard to see how they can be as motivated as Vortis and the hosts have their next three starts on the road, the first a very tough trip to Kobe to face Vissel on Saturday and if they are to survive, you do feel it needs to come along with three points in this fixture.
