Ligue 2 betting tip: Chateauroux- Stade Brestois 29

football betting tips -

I sent subscribers notes on nine games this morning, four of which are being played early Saturday.

That gives me freedom to post something on here and notes on one of tonight's Ligue 2 games can be read below.

Good start today, not just for longer term subscribers, but those who took up the "weekend offer" as I concluded my analysis of the just finished Sanfrecce Hiroshima- Jubilo Iwata game this morning with ................"0-0 is priced at 8.0/8.50, the draw @ 3.38 and "under" 2 goals at 2.30 and all offer value IMO ". That ended 0-0 with the favoured home side not have a single attempt on target !

Ligue 2: Chateauroux- Stade Brestois 29

Chateauroux are in the often difficult second season in Ligue 2 and have not been able to replicate their playoff push/pretence from last season. They are down in 14th and staying out of the relegation battle will now be the extent of their ambitions. Chat have won just three times at home, all versus bottom four teams, four of their five home defeats have come to top 8 teams and this is exactly the kind of fixture they struggle with. They also shipped five goals in the reverse fixture and only created one attempt from inside the penalty area, they did finish with nine men, but all goals were conceded before the second dismissal and had already given up two before the first.

Last week I wrote the following about Brest............

Brest are perhaps the best team in Ligue 2 have lost just 1 /21, scored in 20 , but the goals have dried up a little desite that amazing record, with just one goal in each of their last eight starts, after 30 in the previous 13. They have been wasteful in front of goal, but are still creating a lot of good opportunities and still miserly defensively and they finish games incredibly strongly, especially as home team with an amazing 15-1 second half goal difference as host. That always makes it "OK" to wait for better odds where they are concerned and with Grenoble not having scored a road goal inside the opening 20 minutes in over six months this could be a slow boiler . I would not put anyone off "waiting" and then back Brest and /or "over", but on this occasion I think it might be time for things to click again for the host.

They won that 3-1 and could pretty much coast for the final 30 minutes.

I had spoken about them often earlier in the year, often focussing not just on that fine second half home record, but fantastic road form ..........Ahead of the Christmas break I updated with ..........They have gone 8-3-1 since Furlan completed that suspension ( see above) and are 22-14-10 on the road, they did lose that last away start at Lens, but are 7-1-0 next time out on the road following an away defeat, scoring 2+ goals in six of those starts.

They are unbeaten in four subsequent road starts, three were draws, however, they finished with 10 men in one, settled for a point in another and were , as already discussed misfiring a little at the time. That road record of 23-17-10 with an averagae of 1.72 points across 50 away starts is as good as you are ever likely to see in a section as competitive as L2 and now that they have refound that goal touch, I like them to get back to winning ways. Their next away start is a trip to 4th placed Lorient and they will want to at least retain their four point advantage ahead of that. Chateauroux are without both starting full backs and suspended joint top scorer Razak Boukari, they have named just four defenders in today's squad, two centre and two left backs, one of whom left the field early last week to be replaced by a striker, which highlights their shortage of options. Away win.
