Not since 2014/15 has a team with 21 points or fewer after 26 rounds survived, the last team to do so was Leicester City and they won the title the following season, so, get the bunting ready if you are a Blades, Clarets or Hatters supporter and your team does achieve the Great Escape!

I suspect that says more about the Foxes and what a false position they were in and they actually played at 4th pace level over those final 12 starts, averaging just shy of 2 points per game.

The more eagle eyed amongst you will have noted that Luton have not played their 26th game yet and were they to beat Aston Villa this weekend they would move above the "magic" 21 points tally, but for now, they make the criteria and it is rare to have three with such a low number at this stage, but it did occur in 2018/19. Anyway, since 14/15, twelve teams have tried and failed and only two had fewer than 16 points at this stage and United and Burnley supporters are doubtless already preparing themselves for a speedy return to the Championship ,all of the current bottom three were also promoted last season. If it were to happen, this would be United's second relegation in four seasons and Burnley's second in three campaigns.

Everton getting their ten point deduction reduced to six on Monday hardly helped the prospects of survival for the bottom three and even if Everton and Forest were to receive points deductions for similar offenses ( a follow up one in the case of the Toffees), it looks like even losing six points each would probably not be enough to save Burnley or United, but Luton will view things very differently. Town have won over a lot of football watchers for their football and never say die attitude, at least outside of Watford and it is amazing how differently they are perceived, yet are still in deep trouble and shipping goals (19 in five) and injury hit right now.

Good luck!
