football betting tips -

I have watched a LOT of League 1 and 2 football over the years following Brentford, until 2014 that is the only level (one year aside) that the mighty Bees had played at since 1954, which contrary to popular belief was before I was born !

It was mostly League 1 and I gained a reputation as a good judge of the third tier, it was the league I knew best, for the last seven years it has been the Championship and my record there is excellent also. Now, after rising up the leagues alongside the Bees, I am mostly watching Premier League games live. Of course, I have always watched the EPL and Championship and all other football on television, but live is different and better and you see so much more at a game than you will ever do sitting on your sofa. I would always advise sports bettors to get out and see as much live action as they can, it is rarely wasted and the effort will usually be rewarded many times over.

Anyway, back to League 1, I cannot see much live in the third tier nowadays, just the odd game, but when I do dip into it, you can be absolutely certain I have done a lot of research and know what it takes to succeed at this level and if you get to see any of my notes on the lower leagues, you should take special notice, especially with my "outright" picks.

In 2016-17 I put up a big bet on Sheffield United to win League 1 @ 7.0 + and they won by 14 points

Since 2018, just four bets........

Rotherham United 17/18 Playoffs 3.25 WON !

Charlton Athletic 18/19 Playoffs 3.35 WON !

In 2020-21 Oxford United to finish top 6 @ 6.0  WON  and Blackpool to win the playoffs @ 3.75 WON !

This season I have put up two teams, suggesting 1.75 units Portsmouth @ 6.0 to gain promotion and 1 unit Rotherham United to win League 1 @ 13.0 and 2.5 units to be promoted @ 4.50. You can view the United notes in this post on the website.

Portsmouth have had a few ups and downs, but are unbeaten in nine and are up to 9th, but just three points off 6th place. They currently trade @ circa 7.5-8.0 with a long way to go.

United are unbeaten in 19 games in all competitions (13 wins) and are top of the table, albeit only on goal difference. They are now circa 2.20 to win the league and 1.25 to be promoted.

I don't know if we are going to turn a profit on those three bets, we might do, I hope so, although it is not that important in the bigger scheme of things, but we are in a great position and could trade or cash out (goodness I hate that term !) for a profit now if we wished. But it is not about finding winners, we are NOT looking for them, just for an edge and advantageous positions, good value, if we find that, winners will ALWAYS come eventually, but you cannot win long term without betting at value odds, you might win for a while, but the numbers will always eventually catch up with results.

It is hard work.... watching games, doing research, finding value, look at the Rotherham United notes to see what has gone into the preview(s) and the thinking behind it all.

You can also see the Oxford and Blackpool notes in this post. From those you will see that in March this year I wrote .............This (Blackpool) is a club who could have a big couple of seasons and they are worth keeping an eye on.

At the time they were 13th in League 1, 13 points off third place, 7-8 weeks later they had finished third , then won the playoffs and last week they were top half of the table (11th) in the Championship !

clubgowi puts the same amount of effort into all our leagues and sports and never take shortcuts,

Long time subscribers take the easy way out and pay the "big bucks"  (about 1 euro per newsletter) for a subscription and these kinds of previews !   I was being sarcastic about it being expensive BTW !

Good luck !
